Silver Award in the NZ "My China Story" Short Video Competition
Over the weekend, Damon Jiang, a McIndoe House boy in Year 9 travelled to Christchurch to attend the New Zealand "My China Story" Short Video Competition prize-giving ceremony, organised by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Christchurch.

2026 Southern Jam
Students from All Blues, the Otago Girls' and Boys' Combined High Schools' Jazz Band travelled to Blenheim on Wednesday 5 August to compete in the 2026 Southern Jam and perform at a variety of venues across the course of the four day festival.
Dunedin Youth Jazz Festival
All Blues, the Otago Girls’ and Boys’ Combined Jazz Band, are to be congratulated for winning the Big Band competition at the 2026 Dunedin Youth Jazz Festival and receiving a Gold Award from the adjudicator, Duncan Ferguson for their overall performance on Friday at the OBHS auditorium.

Last week, eight students headed over the hill to Āraiteuru Marae for a three-day Science Wānanga.
Jazz, Rock and Community Spirit
Students from the Jazz Band and Rock Bands from Otago Girls' and Boys' participated in a successful concert on Sunday night at Te Whare O Rukutia to raise funds for the Jazz Band's upcoming trip to Blenheim for the Southern Jam.
