OBHS provides boarding and homestay accommodation options for international students. Hosting a student is an enriching and fun experience and a great way for the host family to enjoy learning about a new culture and sharing your own.
Our boys benefit immeasurably from a caring and supportive environment and being able to improve their spoken English in a relaxed, family-oriented situation. Homestay families must be located within reasonable transport proximity to the School, usually on a bus route.
Homestay hosting provides an important financial benefit for families. The 2026 hosting payment is NZ$350 per week.
To apply to become a homestay host, please contact the Homestay Coordinator and request an application form. All hosts are additionally required to complete a Police Vetting form which will be supplied after a confidential discussion about suitability for homestay appointment.
