Parents Association

We are a dedicated group of parents and caregivers committed to enhancing our students' school experience. By organising fundraisers, managing grants, and hosting social events, we provide vital support to the OBHS community. In recent years, our contributions have funded a wide range of initiatives—from choir trips and sports gear to workshop machinery and a new school van. Most recently, we’ve been proud to provide funding to the music department to purchase brand-new equipment.   

Our meetings 

The PA meets on a Thursday, each month at 7.00pm in the OBHS staffroom. Check out our Facebook page or the school newsletter for details.

Attending PA meetings is a great way of finding out what's happening at your son's school.  These meetings are usually attended by a teacher representative or the Rector. It is also an opportunity to discuss and have input into ways the Parents’ Association can support the school and to get to know other parents who are also keen to make a contribution to their son’s learning.

New Members 

Anyone who has a son at the school is welcome to attend our meetings and the commitment level you wish to give is completely up to the individual. If you would like to be involved please email parentsassociation@obhs.school.nz and we will add you to our email list.

Second Hand Uniforms 

We run a number of second-hand uniform sales through the year with buy/sell and exchange options. 

The Parents’ Association administers the second hand uniform sales as a service to families and as a fundraising venture for the benefit of the school. We offer buy/sell and exchange options of current uniform.

Wish to purchase a uniform?

Parents and boys can purchase items during the year by contacting the School Office or coming along to one of the sale dates as advertised via the school Newsletter or the Otago Boys’ High School Parents’ Association Facebook page. 

Got a uniform to sell or donate?

The Parents’ Association will buy your uniform pieces directly from you as per the price offer list below. Uniform pieces must be current regulation, clean, and in good condition. Blazers should be dry-cleaned. Sports uniforms are not accepted by the Parents’ Association for purchase or offered for sale.

All items can be dropped off at the School Office. Donations of items are gratefully accepted or if you prefer, the Parents’ Association can purchase your items. Simply complete the form below and include it with your pieces. The Parents’ Association will look over your items and advise which items they will purchase. If items are not current regulation uniform or are not in good condition we may choose to return them to you. We do not purchase sports uniform. Payment will then be made to your nominated bank account.

Your contributions help other families, reduce waste, and support our school community – with all profits returning directly to the school.
