What a fantastic way to end Term 2! At this week’s final Junior Assembly for the term, we celebrated our core value of Courage by awarding badges to 221 students. It was inspiring to see so many boys recognised for stepping out of their comfort zones, facing new academic challenges head-on, and standing up for what is right.
This term, 67% of Year 9 and 62% of Year 10 students earned their badge. Year 9 continues their streak and takes the win for Term 2!
Thank you to our teaching staff for their dedication in recognising these efforts through positive postcards and house points. These small actions make a big difference, strengthening relationships and encouraging our students to uphold the principles of Above the Hoops. Our boys are seeing that showing moral and academic courage pays off with tangible recognition.

Outstanding Achievements
A few students have set the bar exceptionally high as we wrap up the first half of the year:
Highest GPA for Effort (out of 5):
Year 9 – Anderson Scott (9S MC2) 4.9
Year 10 – Logan Sanders (10T SN5) 4.76
Most Positive Postcards: Michael Nguyen (9T PK2) – 3 postcards this term.
Most House Points: William Duffy (9B AP3) – 19 house points.
House Competition Standings
These badges contribute significantly to the House Competition. The standings for the Courage round are as follows:

Badges are a visible sign of your contribution to the school community. They look sharp on your tie or shirt collar. Wear them with pride over the holidays, and let them be a reminder of the grit and character you have shown this term.
Next term’s value is Perseverance. What does perseverance mean when it comes to learning?
It builds directly on the courage you've shown this term. Courage gets you started, but perseverance keeps you going. It is about sticking with a task even when it gets difficult and refusing to give up when faced with a setback. So next term, boys:
Stay committed—keep working at those difficult concepts until they finally click.
Bounce back—see mistakes not as failures, but as a necessary part of the learning process.
Finish strong—put in the same determination at the end of a project or term as you did at the very beginning.
Let’s come back in Term 3 ready to show real resilience and determination.
Courage Badges were awarded to the following boys. If you missed assembly, please pick up your badge from Mr Sullivan at his office at 3:05pm or after our first junior assembly next term. Similarly, if you feel an error was made, please speak to Mr Sullivan.
