Term 2 Students of the Term
The Students of the Term for Term 2 were announced at assembly this week.
Congratulations to the following recipients:
Year 9
Jacob Flutey
Jacob is an outstanding young man who consistently embodies our school values through his respectful, polite, and mature attitude. Always prepared and hardworking, he actively seeks opportunities to learn, speaks up in discussions, and shows a quiet enthusiasm for his mahi. Jacob is a natural, mature leader who can work with anyone and is always willing to help others succeed. Even while injured this term, his commitment never wavered, he stayed fully engaged by assisting with lesson setup and officiating. Kind, thoughtful, and encouraging, he is a truly awesome student who brings out the best in those around him.
Year 10
George Dowling
George worked exceptionally hard in Term 2 and has become a standout member of the class. He is always the first to volunteer, chip in, and get fully involved in every activity, bringing a fantastic energy to the room. In class, George maintains an impressive level of focus and is consistently able to answer questions and contribute meaningfully to discussions. His strong work ethic is clearly reflected in the high standard of mahi he produces week after week. George is thoroughly deserving of this recognition.
Year 11
Mateo Mirosa
Mateo is an exceptional student who consistently brings engagement, positivity, and an incredible work ethic to the classroom. He is genuinely invested in achieving at the highest level, which is reflected in the caliber of his work. What truly sets Mateo apart is his mature approach to growth, he possesses a rare ability to take feedback on board and immediately utilise it to elevate his learning, all done with absolute focus and minimum fuss. Mateo is highly deserving of this recognition.
Year 12
Sam Hobbs
Sam is the true epitome of our school values, demonstrating maturity, responsibility, and an outstanding work ethic every day. He contributes thoughtfully to class discussions and constantly challenges himself to reach a high standard of mahi. Beyond his academic drive, Sam is a deeply valued peer who is incredibly generous with his classmates, always willing to step in and offer assistance to others in need. Furthermore, his proactive nature shines through even when he is away, whenever school is missed, he responsibly and quickly gets caught up without prompting.
Year 13
Hoani Kiwara
As the House Head of McIndoe, Hoani has proven himself to be an exemplary young man who has invested his heart and soul into his leadership role this year. Guided by a strong desire to serve, he operates as a quiet yet highly effective leader. Hoani possesses the maturity and quiet authority needed to influence and positively guide some of the stronger characters in his year group, seamlessly bringing them into alignment when required. His leadership extends beautifully into his work with younger students, where he excels at leading the Juniors through their Tū Mana learning. Alongside his service to others, Hoani maintains a powerful, quiet ambition for personal success, striving everyday to make his whānau and the wider community proud.
