School House transformation gathering pace
Thanks to the OBHS Foundation and our generous donors we are getting through the upgrades at School House
There has been a flurry of activity at School House, with John Miller and his team from Silversteam Construction making great progress on the redevelopment.
In the last 4(?) months, we’ve ticked off:
Hawthorne Bathroom upgrades
Thompson Bathroom upgrades
Central Block - upgraded prep room and upgraded common room with kitchenette.
Work is currently underway in the former Sick Bay area, which is being transformed into the new administration block. Once complete, this will pave the way for work to begin on the internal foyer and external sense of arrival.
Foundation Board member Lockie Chisholm has been overseeing the project and says the flexibility of the approach has been a real advantage.
“It’s been great dealing with John Miller and his team. We aren’t bound by any hard and fast designs; if we see a way to improve an area outside of the initial scope, we move forward quickly. There are a lot of efficiencies being gained by doing it this way."
Help us grow Future Oaks
The Foundation is fundraising for the School House redevelopment through our Future Oaks campaign.
Families and supporters who pledge $2,000 or more will be recognised with an Oak Leaf on a large Oak Tree design, creating a lasting record of those who have helped shape the future of School House.
With so much progress now visible, we hope families will see the value in getting behind the campaign and helping us bring the redevelopment to completion.
Donations can be made through our stock scheme or by cash donation. As the Foundation is a registered charitable organisation, eligible donors can claim 33% of their donation back through a tax rebate.
