Young Enterprise Scheme Polson Higgs Pitch Day 2026
On Wednesday, 27 May, the Year 13 Business Studies students pitched their Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) business ideas to a panel of judges at the Polson Higgs YES Pitch Day in Dunedin.
This year, OBHS has fifteen student businesses pitching their ideas to a panel of four judges as part of the next stage of the YES programme.
Each group had five minutes to present their business idea, explain their target market, share their financial information, and outline their plans for the year ahead. The judging panel consisted of four business professionals who provided valuable feedback to each team. Students were assessed on a range of criteria, including their business idea, innovation, understanding of the market, presentation skills, and much more.
Presenting to experienced judges can be a nerve-racking experience, but all 15 groups stepped up and did an excellent job. The day gave students the opportunity to pitch in a professional setting and receive constructive feedback that will help them refine their businesses as they move forward in the competition.
We would like to say a big thank you to the team at Polson Higgs for hosting us and to the judges for giving up their time to support our students. We look forward to seeing how these businesses continue to develop throughout the remainder of the YES programme in 2026.
