Photography Trip to Aramoana

On Friday, the hardy men of the Photography Club piled into a van and headed to Aramoana for three hours of photographic meditation.

Photography Trip to Aramoana

They encountered all sorts of weird and wonderful wildlife, including a (very) old boy from Port, who was very pleased to see the lads from his old school out and about.

The group tracked down a variety of rocks, Coke bottles, plants and twisted metal and, with the magic of the photographer’s eye, turned them all into works of art.

There were many claims of photographing Royal Albatross, but on closer examination of the photos, it seems that, at the last minute, the sneaky creatures had swung right and a random gull had swung left into the frame. A great lesson on the difficulties of photographing these avian giants.

A claim later in the trip of photographing penguins was met with some disbelief. I expected to see pigeons, but was pleasantly surprised – as, I suspect, was the penguin.
