Orienteering Season Round-Up
We've had an incredibly successful season of orienteering here at OBHS, with representation and success at the local, national, and international levels.
Henry Hodgson at EYOC
In June, Henry Hodgson competed at the European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC) in Slovenia—a massive achievement and an awesome experience. Henry said he learned a lot about orienteering in new terrain and had an amazing time with the New Zealand team.
Dunedin Schools Series
At the local Dunedin Schools Series, OBHS was well represented and won the Year 10–11 and Year 12–13 grades. Well done to all the students who worked together to achieve such a successful season: Tāmati Matthews, Ethan Kaina, Henry Hodgson, Sam Hobbs, Hunter Swete, Alex Thurlow, Harrison Thurlow, Sammie Jamieson, Anderson Scott, Stuart Scott, Bennett Potter, Liam Heineman, Fergus Lloyd, Chris McArthur, and Louis Pinel.
NZ Secondary Schools Championships
Over the holidays, Sam Hobbs and Henry Hodgson competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships in Christchurch. They had a great time exploring new maps and being part of a major national event. Well done, boys!
