Musical Success at the NZ Modern School of Music Competition
Over the weekend, five OBHS students attended the NZ Modern School of Music Competition (Otago/Southland) with some awesome results.
Alex Glover competed in six events on the piano and guitar, coming away with a 2nd, three 3rds, and a Highly commended.
Mathew Campbell competed in two events on guitar coming away with a 2nd place.
Robbie Nichol competed in three events on guitar receiving a highly commended.
Sasmin Gamage, on piano, competed in four categories gaining three seconds and one 1st place.
And finally, Thisun Kuruppuarachchi competed in one event getting a 2nd place on piano.
To round off the day, Alex Glover, Mathew Campell and Robbie Nichol teamed up to perform a Welsh folk song.
