AFS Global Citizenship Programme
Global competence and intercultural skills are more important than ever in today's world that seems simultaneously more inter-connected and more divided than ever before.
AFS Intercultural Programmes New Zealand has been offering student exchange programmes to help Kiwi students build their intercultural skills since 1947.
We also offer digital programmes to offer students the opportunity to learn global competence skills from home.
AFS Global Up Teen is a 4-week digital programme, combining self-paced online learning modules with facilitated live sessions. Participants on Global Up programmes develop intercultural understanding and tangible global skills and can earn the internationally recognised AFS Global Competence Certificate.

Participation in a Global Up programme is usually priced at $225 per person.
We are delighted to be able to offer 20 fully-funded scholarships to make this amazing programme available at no cost to a limited number of students.
The programme will run from 20 July to 16 August 2026.
Participants need to be able to commit to complete 18 online modules and attend 4 facilitated live sessions (Zoom), requiring a total time commitment of approx. 16 - 25 hours.
