A Message From the Rector

A good term has come to an end, a new one will begin in two weeks, and we cannot wait to have the boys back next term.

A Message From the Rector

At Otago Boys' High School, we are lucky in a number of ways. We have great students, strong staff and exceptional surroundings. Sometimes I pinch myself that I get to work in an environment that is so conducive to boys' education, to learning, to brotherhood, to crafting Men of Oak.

So, the next two weeks, for me at least, will be boring. I like the energy of a school. I like the brotherhood.

Because even though our buildings are spectacular, it is the people who actually make the place. Enjoy the time with your son, spend time with him if you can, let him rest and reset, and let him know that what he achieves within these walls matters for his future.

Most of our staff, including myself, will take some time to recharge as well, ready for a very fast Term 4 – the one where the combination of all that we have learned this year will be put into place.

Because it will be when the boys are back that we will have life.
