Attention fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles or other significant male family members of Y11, Y12, Y13 students
Most boys have only one chance to visit the School Lodge in the Matukituki Valley., in Year 10, and parents very rarely see it.
We are again offering an opportunity for older boys and a male relative to visit the Lodge for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night at Anniversary Weekend. The Lodge is still operational at that point, as the last Year 10 class for the term leaves on that Friday, 24th March.
We have an empty bus leaving Dunedin at 7 a.m. which people could take. We have a hired van up there which we could use to bring people back, though last year most people used their own transport. The van can take 10 people, but this would be a bit crammed when you include bags.
However, you would be free to make your own arrangements as long as we know what they are. It is possible to drive a car to the suspension bridge at the Lodge, and for bus passengers, the van would take you from the Aspinall’s homestead to the bridge.
All would need to walk from the bridge to the Lodge and carry their gear.
We would cater for you, offering a menu representative of the boys’ camp diet.
We propose a cost per family of $150, which would cover food, travel and insurance.
If you are interested, please call the School Office (03 4775527) or email me directly (firstname.lastname@example.org) and register your interest. At that stage I will send you a list of what you need to bring, and you would need to give me an exact idea of your preferred travel arrangement in case I need to book another van for the return trip.
