Otago Boys’ High School has a roll of 900 boys and has a limit on International Student places. The limit has been set to ensure we can give a high level of individual care and attention to each student and ensure their needs are met.
We believe a supportive environment is essential to the happiness and well-being of our International students.
80 % of our students gain entrance to University each year. Our international students have gone on to study in Otago University and other top Universities throughout the world. They have chosen Medicine, International Business, Pharmacy, Architecture and Economics.
We accept students from Year 9 level through to Year 13 –Ages 13-18 yrs old. The school year starts in late January and ends in early December. It is divided in to 4 terms, with 2 week holiday breaks in April, July and September.
Each international student is supported by an ESOL programme. On arrival an assessment of the English level of the student is made and a programme planned to meet each students specific level and requirement. We help students study for the IELTS examination, Cambridge and SAT.
